Der Text „Sentences On a House and Other Sentences“ von John Hejduk und die Methode „As Found“ (Seeing the ordinary with a new view- to deal individually with the pre existing - to perceive something radical) waren die Grundlagen für der Arbeit „the house I never wanted“.
Es geht um die Frau, die gemeinsam mit ihrem Mann, einem Bildhauer, dieses Haus Ende des 19. Jahrhunderts bewohnte. Das Leben dieser Frau endete mit einem Selbstmord in jenem Haus.

Das Modell ist eine Fassade des Hauses. Eine Momentaufnahme eingefroren. Wie ein ausgestopftes Tier, eine Skulptur auf zwei Sockeln - ausgestellt. Auf Zehenspitzen gelingt ein Blick ins Innere, die Rückseite ist offen, unverhüllt. Das, was man nicht sehen soll wird sichtbar.

It is about the woman who lived in this house together with her husband, a sculptor, at the end of the 19th century. The life of this woman ended with a suicide in that same house.

The model is a facade of the house. A still image, frozen. Like a stuffed animal, a sculpture exhibited on two pedestals. On tiptoe you manage to see inside. The back is open, unobscured. That which is not meant to be seen becomes visible.
